Ever attended a meeting that got you very frustrated? Well, you’re not an exception. For many years meetings were a torment for me. No one seemed to care about my opinion or even listened to what I wanted to say. Little did I know that I was the primary cause of my own frustrations and even those of my colleagues.

“Feedback is the breakfast of champions”

Being overenthusiastic and passionate about my own ideas I didn’t notice that I was the one talking all the time, interrupting others and not listening to anyone but myself. Until the day it hit me in the face when I finally received the feedback I really needed to get. It took me quite some time, a lot of effort and practice but thanks to the right feedback I can really enjoy meetings today.

Change the game

Listening to others, making sure I understand what they say, asking questions and being the last to speak up… I am finally able to make the impact I always wanted to make whilst giving energy to others and receiving it in return.

Bottom line?

By talking less and listening more people will also be genuinely interested in what you have to say. So the next time you’re in a meeting just give it a try: don’t speak up, be interested in what others have to say and be the last one to talk. Believe me, you’ll get your message across!

Let’s have a virtual coffee and I will show you how!
